This was the culmination to a rather long journey of construction that saw the project encounter various unexpected delays including the tragic loss in a car accident of one of the partners, one of the main visionaries during the beginning stages.
The name, proposed during a fun night, comes from the fusion of two words ‘next’ and’ door’ and is written in this fashion to reflect colloquially a local and/or nearby destination in ‘kasi’ speak. The entire restaurant can accommodate up to 200 people. We have an outdoor area/deck which is pleasant during the day for breakfast, long lunches and summer sundowners. We also have formal dining areas with a panoramic view of Vilakazi street for those cosy afternoon and evenings and lastly not forgetting our unique upstairs balcony with a 360 degrees view of Soweto, great for cocktail sundowners!! The cold Highveld winter evenings see us bring out the wood fires for those cosy meals and drinks around the fire.
